Dermatological disorders
Recent in vitro studies and Phase II clinical trials point towards the anti-inflammatory and anti-fungal properties of artemisinin and flavonoids present in mature Artemisia annua leaves as a potential solution for seborrheic dermatitis, an inflammatory skin disease that causes scales in oily areas such as the scalp, face and ears; and is caused by an allergy to the Malassezia fungi. Other dermatological disorders that could potentially be treated with this plant extract include acne vulgaris, eczema, herpes simplex virus and warts.
