Sequentia in collaboration with ICIA to start pilot production of Artepharming in Tenerife

Following successful laboratory and controlled-greenhouse experiments, Sequentia Biotech has established a collaboration with the Instituto Canario de Investigaciones Agrarias (ICIA) to start pilot production field tests with Artepharming in two different microclimates of Tenerife, Canary Islands. Artepharming is a NEOTEC-funded project that seeks to produce optimized Artemisia annua, primarily by increasing not only plant biomass but also the content of the valuable artemisinin molecule that is naturally produced by the plant.
