You already know Artemisia annua as a plant and some of its benefits and properties, but in this post we want you to know how a plant of Asian origin is grown and produced in Europe.
The weather conditions and the quality of the ground are essential factors for the proper cultivation of Artemisia annua. Within the EU territory, the Canary Islands are possibly the most suitable area, that is why we have installed our first production centre there, El Pico farm.
The production of Artennua® begins with the sowing process with the multiple seeds in trays for their germination; and in which they should spend enough time until they have the necessary height and biomass to be transferred to the field for their appropriate growth.
In this stage of cultivation, we start a periodic application of our TricoStimulant™ for a stipulated time so that in this way our innovative technology could:

- Accelerate the plant growth process
- Increase its biomass
- Increase the density of its trichomes or plant-hairs where the artemisinin molecule and other active ingredients of interest such as flavonoids are synthesized.
Artennua® is a standardized version of the plant Artemisia annua, with many beneficial properties. Therefore, the amount to be used is lower for all possible applications in the nutraceutical, animal health, pharma, and cosmetic segments.
After a few months the plants reach an average size of 2.5 meters, and at this point they are harvested and go through a process of cutting, drying and leaf removal respectively. All these processes are carried out manually with the exception of the drying process.

Finally, after removing the leaves from the entire stem and secondary branches, the production is divided in two, one part is sieved and the other part is subjected to a grinding process to obtain the pulverized leaves.

All the production is stored and kept dry until the reception of some order to be later transformed in some of the offered formats and to be able to be sent to the final client.

Remember that the power of Artennua® is standardized; additionally all its content is 100% leaves of Artemisia annua, and does not contain secondary branches or stems.
